Wish List - Serger

This is my latest wish list - serging machine to feed to my latest sewing obsession. Serging at a shop is cheaper but is more troublesome especially since most of the time I don't have no idea what I'm doing with the fabric - with zero sewing training and experience, I do all my sewing by trial and error. Already checked this at a singer shop, this baby costs RM1,400. Pricey but the good news is they accept credit card installment (hooray!). RM60 for 3 years! So by the time I finish paying, my kids will be big and got married...  Hmm.. see if I can think of a way how to sneak this into the house and hide it from my husband for the rest of our lives.

My next project.

It involves ballerina, pretty fabrics, and Aisya.  Can't wait!

My first cushion covers.

I am VERY proud to show you ..... (drum roll...).... my first cushion covers... ta..dah....

(applause!!!)

I sewed them with my mom's old trusty sewing machine which I inherited after her passing.
The fabrics were actually placemats and table runners which were on sale. I think it is a total genius to make covers from them.. sorry for the angkat bakul.. hehe..  The back is the green colour similar to the trimming. I even made the cushion inserts myself.
When I showed them to my husband, he said ''wow.. look professional''. Hehe.. terangkat.
Not bad for a first sewing project right, especially since I knew nothing about sewing. Mak will be very proud of me.

Front Entry

This is the view of my front entry. I love hydrangea. These I picked from my garden (well the plant already flowered when we bought from the nursery. Sadly after weeks of neglecting and abusing by cat's urine, the plant went to plants heaven). The ceramic numbers were our house number. I bought them at Schilpol Airport while on transit there last year soon after knowing that our house deal went through. I put them on a vintage shelf which was given to us by my MIL's friend. I'll show you a more complete image of the entry next time.

White sofa pledge.

  1. I will not scream over spilled milo.
  2. I will not mind cats' hair.
  3. I will not lose sleep when the sofa changed colour over daki and sweat.
  4. I will not stop the kids (esp. my son when he comes home from school) from sitting on it.
  5. I will not be annoyed if my son stuff the cushion corners to his nose.
  6. I will not nag my husband if he starts fidling with the cushion corners (what's wrong with the boys?)
  7. I will not cry if my daughter accidentally (not!) left an uncapped red marker pen in between the cushions (and only to discover it weeks later).
  8. I will not tell my family don't ever sit on the sofa - it's for buat cantik aje.

Can I keep the pledge?
Oh dear.. I may have to rethink about this. White sofas are dreamy but they are not practical.

2nd image from BarnHouse. I forgot where I got the first.
